The grounds are well maintained and the highlight is the walled garden with a large variety of fruit trees and a maze that puzzled us for a while! “Location is excellent and staff very welcoming and helpful, stayed on the third floor room was clean although very dated and very warm, fan provided but not really effective. Windows only part open which doesn’t help when so warm outside. The shower is useless very low water pressure same with the taps and toilet flush. Breakfast was good however selection of continental was limited, also my wife’s favourite poached eggs sadly wasn’t an option.”

“It was a great stay, I have stayed at the Clayton Hotel many times. Front of house was great and the manager was great and really welcoming. Also there are many place you can get to that is in walking distance, there are so many restaurants and site seeing that it's so easy to get to. Breakfast is fantastic and so many choices to suit everyone. The room are great.”

“Good location and well-stocked kitchenette, but *very* small--the website says that all suites have a separate living area: we got a small table with just one chair (the table was up against the TV so there was no room for a second without blocking the way), and a low chair shoved into the space between the bed and the bathroom (about 1.5m). I'm not entirely sure we got the room we booked (I went with one of the larger suites, and yet the one we got was clearly just for one person). Everything...

“Stayed here Mon-Fri. My initial opinion of this place was very good. Staff were very friendly and appeared efficient. Check-in was easy. Rooms are very good with a ceiling fan and additional tower fan in the room which was helpful during the recent spell of hot weather. Breakfast was good. Couldn’t connect my laptop to their wifi so had to use mobile network. Food in the restaurant was good and delivered piping hot but service is slow and food is a bit pricey. Nevertheless I was very...
