“I had everything I needed in my room. The owner was very pleasant and carried my heavy luggage up the stairs. The breakfast is also nice. The hotel is within walkable distance to the city center, and the shores of Derwentwater”

“We received a very warm welcome from Craig and Claire on arrival, Craig even carried my suitcase from the car to the hotel where Claire took over and gave us the tour of the hotel ground floor and explained how things worked. Our room was spacious enough with an ensuite, I might suggest you take on of the chairs out we never sat on both at the same time. Bathroom was a great size with plenty room for our toiletries. “We stayed the Lyndhurst for 6 nights. It is conveniently located and an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Our room was small, but well maintained, quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is on the street, but we usually were able to find a spot close by. We recommend this little gem.”

“Amazing find. A quaint hotel in an amazing location. Great service. The bird life & Red Squirrels visible from my bedroom window was incredible. A must for wildlife watchers. Walkers would love it as well as there’s literally a path in to the hills at the gate. Do the steam railway trip. You can hear the trains as the pass 5 minutes walk across the valley. Great hosts, breakfasts were perfect. I’ll be back. ”
