"Overall, my girlfriend & i had a really good experience at the Riu Republica. Food was pretty good from breakfast to dinner. Our drink of choice at the swim up was a caipirinha (rum,lime,mint, & sugar cane over ice). The resort is known for its party & live entertainment personality, which they owe us nothing for, BUT keep this in mind when choosing your room. While the party scene is smack in the middle of the resort where everything is located & very close to the beach, if you're looking for some sense of tranquility, you might want a room at the other end of the resort, away from everything pretty much. The jerk chicken station lived up to the hype in all of the reviews we read & the buffet staff were very friendly & helpful throughout our stay. The main swim up bar pool (closest to the buffet) is where the action is. Great music, good vibes & waiters continuously at your service while the staff interaction will keep you very entertained as well. I would certainly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a good, inexpensive, party themed introduction to the Dominican Republic like ourselves! Cheers!"

"This boutique hotel is more than awesome. It has a genuine feel of being in a private home. Jonelle (the property manager, host, coordinator etc) could not have possibly been more accommodating, friendly and overall full of life and was just pure excellence. His assistant, (sorry I don't know his name) was also amazing. The property is very beautiful and unique and we highly recommend it."
