"We stayed at Tango de Mayo hotel for 6 nights the last week of Feb 2026. Location is very convenient and safe. Our room on level 5 was generally quiet, although we did hear the occasional traffic noise but it was not bad at all. Staff were professional and helpful. Breakfast was good, with cut and whole fresh fruit every morning, including whole oranges, apples, peaches, bananas etc. Service in the room was generally good but uneven; one day we got three glass bottles of drinking water in the room, another day two bottles, and some days none at all! There was a problem with the toilet in our room on two occasions towards the end of our stay - when we flushed the toilet, clean water from the pipe behind the toilet rushed out and partially flooded the bathroom floor. The water stopped by itself so we suspected it's some sort of loose pipe connection with the water tank behind the wall and once the tank emptied the water stopped by itself(?) After we notified the front desk, maintenance staff at the first incident came up fairly quickly to reconnect(?) or tighten(?) the pipe/ connector and the problem was resolved for the rest of the evening. It happened again the next day and room cleaning staff came up and did something to the pipe/connector behind the toilet and the problem was resolved again. We suspected that it was a known problem with the toilet/pipe and not an isolated incident."

"This hotel is located on a gorgeous tree-lined street in a lovely part of the city. The room was very spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay - especially the wonderful front desk staff who were so kind and helpful when I arrived several hours later and much more jet lagged than planned due to flight delays. I only dined in the restaurant for breakfast but I thought it was the perfect way to start a long day of sightseeing. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!"

"I would not recommend this hotel. The location is good but it is very old and almost all the rooms had a strange potent smell. Staff are very rude. It is a tour bus hotel so I think they have a very bad time with customers and take it out on everyone."

"We did not stay at the property. We checked in, went to our room and left within 10 mins. Very unsanitary, my son had a mold allergy headache within 10 mins. "

"The hotel is well situated in the microcentre, with most places of interest within easy walking distance. Our room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. However our overall impression was that the hotel feels "tired" and would benefit from a refurbishment. The photos of the hotel are clever and somewhat flattering, the reality is less glamorous. The rooftop bar, swimming pool area and entrance lobby are all much smaller than they appear. Whilst quite large, our room described as a suite, was very basic by way of amentities. No plug in the sink or bath (what is the point of a bath without a plug ???), no flannel provided for washing, and no kettle to make a hot drink., there was a USD2 charge for water in the mini bar. Overall, I would say the hotel warrants a reasonable 3 star or 6 out of 10 rating. "
