โEnjoyed our 2 night stay great breakfast and good location as it was just opposite the park. Shops and restaurants all local. Car Park was a small and under the hotel. โ
โBeautiful location. Host was very knowledgeable about the area and helped us take advantage of our short time there. Breakfast was outstanding. Room was perfect size for my husband and I and the hot shower was nice! โ
โWe thoroughly enjoyed staying in a castle. Staff were very friendly and professional . There was a selection of two menus for dinner. The more casual menu had steak and ale pie which was exceptional and a generous portion size. The hotel is conveniently located to visit Hadrian's Wall and the Roman History Museum. It is also not far from Hexham Abbey. It is a rare experience to visit a 7th century church. Donโt forget to take the tour of the castle offered daily to guests. If you are...
โAs a hiker on the Hadrians Wall trail, this venue had everything; good food, good beer and a good drying room. After a wet walk this was most welcome.
This place was very convenient on the Wall trail and would highly recommend. โ
โSet in the grounds of a golf course, the room, part of the Courtyard area, was exceptional. Set on 3 levels, the bedroom was on the top level with wall mounted TV, then a seating area below that and a second TV, and the bathroom below that.
The only negative for us was the heavy quilt, which was too hot, and the soft pillows, offering little support.
Breakfast was excellent. It was ordered from the menu. However, a buffet offering fresh fruit, pastries and cereal would be a useful addition....
โThe staff were excellent - really helpful and friendly. The food was delicious - we had a few sides & dessert in the evening, then the breakfast next morning - everything was delicious, really well cooked and the service was great. The room was comfortable and clean (and our little one loved the bunk beds for a family room) โ
