"I loved the pools their activities and the shows at night for families to enjoy. Staff is very welcoming enjoyed the salt pool that has a beautiful view to the beach. Food was great in buffets and at night tacos and pizza for late night snacks. Love that it’s next to xcaret park."

"This property had exceptional service and well managed. The food was top notch. My issue comes to the very poorly managed property for beach area. The service at beach was great as usual for secrets brand but the beach area was run down and falling apart. Obviously a very old facility that has been advertised as only several years old. As well as the issue of most of the eating options closed on main resort and no food area open besides the bar and a small hamburger grill table set up to which was not made known online or upon arrival. It is not acceptable to have individuals fly from their country of origin expecting certain things and get onsite to something completely different. Otherwise a great resort."

"I brought two families with me to this resort. This was my second trip to grand palladium family selection. This time the resort has improved their food quality. Last trip the food was not so great except the nest. This time around the nest, the Asian and Mexican restaurants were my favourite. Only down side I did not like was our hotel room had a cheap wood shower door which was a concern because could be a treated wood and cancer causing chemicals leaking out as we shower. Really not comfortable for us. I truly believe it was there temporarily until new door comes, previous guest may have broke the mirror shower door. Other downside the smoking areas are not controlled. People still come to the pool and theatre room to smoke around kids in Canada this is not acceptable. Top side waitress and chef were very nice people.smiling and we tipped them for good services. I have nothing to complain about them but love their great services. Top notch and will come again"

"Barcelo has 6 hotels on the property to accommodate all price ranges and specific needs (like the adults only hotel). The area is very large so be prepared to walk a lot! The grounds are immaculate; the rooms are very clean and well maintained. They kept the fridge stocked with water, soda, beer and nuts every day. They keep the room temps a little too cold and I could never figure out how to adjust the thermostat and maintain the temp I wanted. It was always around 19 C which is about 64 F. The food at the buffet was always fresh and hot and the specialty restaurants were fabulous! The staff is multi-lingual, except for the gals who clean the rooms. Most of them only speak Spanish. The check in process was smooth and luckily there weren't large groups checking in at the same time however; checking out was awful. They need a separate line for check-outs. I waited for over 30 minutes behind people who were checking in and we almost missed our shuttle. That would be my only complaint is the check-out process. Give yourself PLENTY of time when you're ready to leave. Also - the bartenders are very friendly and remember your preferences. We always tipped them $1 every time we went to get drinks, and they appreciate it very much! Pools are very clean and huge! Never felt crowded and there is plenty of seating both around the pools and on the beach."

"Extraordinary hotel and apts. Loved the stone walk ways and lush jungle landscaping Clean, safe, comfortable. The staff made the difference between a great stay and an unforgettable stay. Photos are accurate. Good location. Wonderful resturant. I had the pleasure of staying in 2 different rooms with plunge pools and a 1 bdr apt with plunge pool. Wow. Huge pool, priviate sun deck big enough to hold a 10 person party. Beautifully decorated. Large 2nd terrace, full large kitchen. Front desk staff - professional, polite, helpfull to a solo older lady traveler. Johnny was most kind. I'd return."

"Our concierge Alfred was so helpful to us he helped us plan our dinners and helped us book a tour. Our waiter Dagoberto was the sweetest! He always greeted us with a smile every time we went for breakfast. Also Grean, Nairobi, Vicente, and Itzel the concierge team were amazing, they were the sweatiest treated us like family. They helped us with our reservations and were always so happy to greet us and help us. Also at the spa Carla gave us an a lovely experience with our hydrotherapy session! The massage therapists Juana and Margarita were amazing therapists . I can truly say they all made a huge difference in our stay. Thank you for such am amazing time!"
