“Lovely place to stay and staff were so welcoming and helpful. We enjoyd the hearty breakfast. The location is great to travel by train in to Cardiff city centre. We will return and hopefully arrive earlier to fit in an evening meal - menu looked good.”

“Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The room was lovely, comfortable, and we slept really well, making for a relaxing visit. While there is some room for improvement with cleanliness and a warmer, friendlier welcome from the staff, these were relatively minor points. With a little more attention to these areas, this would be an excellent place to stay. We’d happily consider returning in the future.”

“Such a fantastic location for accessing the beautiful Brecon Beacons. We had a three night stay in an “Executive Suite”. This has plenty of room, a stand-alone shower (though no bath in our particular room) and we didn’t notice any insects. Everything worked (well except the 2nd TV in the living area but we didn’t mind so didn’t report it) even sauna and steam room at the weekend which at other hotels has been an issue. “Room was overpriced for a concert, £400 per night when £220 normally. I’d expect an uplift but not this much. Room was worn, fan and windows dusty and unclean. Other room had no hot water in shower so unable to use. Noisy and limited sleep although bed comfortable No bar as closed. WiFi non existent and no 5G signal so if you want a quiet night and no shower then ideal place. Breakfast mediocre”

“Room was lovely staff were lovely bit noisy as concert going on in castle across road until late… not a lot they can do about that in fairness if weather was cooler could of closed windows to hopefully reduce noise again nothing they can do about the weather. “The Coal Exchange is a grand old building with an interesting history, but that’s no excuse for how shabby and dim it is. I feel like it could be thoroughly modernised without losing any of its historical charm. “Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. We booked this hotel for my son’s graduation and it was ideal for getting into Cardiff with a short uber ride. Very clean and good sized rooms with everything we needed. Breakfast was really good with hot food served from 7am. We sat in the lovely gardens and had a drink in the bar which was so nice as it was so warm. Would definitely return.”

“I don't think you could find a warmer welcome, from the minute we arrived to heading off the staff at The Cresselly looked after us. We enjoyed a generous dinner and a fantastic breakfast, with high quality ingredients. With free parking right opposite and next to the lovely river walks, it is a brilliant place to stay.
