"The room was very nice, beds were comfortable. The hotel felt very clean and modern. The breakfast was good. The only negative was that we ordered a glass of wine each (2 different types) and after they had been poured we were told that we would have to buy the bottles as white wine does not last. If we would have known that before we would not have had a drink there as my glass of wine ended up costing me $50. The hotel was in a handy location next to a shopping mall and some restaurants...

"The decorations are more of that of a small town in Europe, in particular the dining area. I learnt from the staff that the hotel was originally a German brand. Food varieties are not limited to Chinese, and have included that of Japanese n Western. Rooms are comfortable n have no wardrobes. Yet the open hanging rack and storage spaces are sufficient, n together they facilitate your packing as it is difficult to leave things behind in this setting. "This hotel is in a fantastic location (thanks to the staff for sending a map, it is down the darker end of the street), super close to East Nanjing Rd and the Bund. The person at the desk upgraded us to a bigger room as we had to wait a while to check in. The room was indeed bigger than we'd booked and very comfortable, just with some open steps up to the bed that were a little scary in the dark!
