"This is a nice hotel with comfortable modern air-conditioned rooms for travelers. The bathroom was adequate, although we wished for a shower door in addition to a glass partition. The location just on the other side of the river from the older city gave us broad views of the riverfront and the cathedral beyond. It is easy to access by car and extremely walkable from hotel to the cathedral. In-site parking was overbooked and staff directed us to a convenient deck 2 blocks away, and credited us...

"I love village hotels. I think they're the best chain to stay in. Always good standards with great facilities. However, although we had a nice stay, and the staff as always were great, this one has seen much better days. It was very worn and looked tired. The carpets throughout need replacing. Wallpaper was coming off the walls in the halls. Our rooms were nice, but just need a bit of tlc. A nice stay, but the hotel needs some love"

"We hadn't stayed here before and it had been a long time since we'd been in Scarborough so didn't really have any expectations. We were 'upgraded' to a sea view room on the 4th floor but this is a 19th Century building so don't expect palatial. Everything was clean but tired but this is reflected in the price. The communal areas are stunning. The room wasn't serviced but we were only there 2 nights so that wasn't a problem and reception happily supplied us with more tea/coffee/milk. The Spa bath...

"Hotel car park was full. By phone, hotel receptionist recommended nearby NCP carpark. It would have been useful to have had this information in the welcome letter. The NCP carpark was fairly convenient and secure."

"Welcoming staff- Donna, Steph , Sophie : they're all gems of the hotel. Bedroom was clean, spacious , bathroom was clean as well. Wifi is free and fast. Had an excellent and comfortable stay."
