“Nice hotel. Good bar and local to few shops”

“Newly refurbished rooms were really nice, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is also a bar/pub/restaurant. We ate at the restaurant and the food was decent. There was entertainment in the evening which was loud and we were concerned that it might disturb our sleep, but once back in the room, we couldn’t hear it. There is unrestricted public parking opposite the hotel.”

“The staff were lovely, struck up conversation and made an effort with us. The room was very tidy and neat. The only issue I would say is the shower pressure. I had a shower upon arrival, and even on the “rain” setting, the entire bathroom was soaked including the toilet and the loo roll. I tried facing it towards the wall but it was extremely powerful. May have only been in our room.”

Room was very spacious and had every thing you need ie tea, coffee, biscuits, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries. “The food was delicious, the service was amazing, a wonderful place to eat, drink and sleep. We had a classic bedroom which was fine for staying the one night. It’s an old building but you can see how they’ve made the best of that. Great facilities in the rooms. Parking was easy and close to hotel. Warm and cosy. Shower was hot but need to change the shower head. Bit of a draft with the old windows but the heavy curtains and large radiator kept the room nice and warm. A mirror at the dressing...

“Bed mattress was a little hard other than that great ”

“All the staff were very friendly and everywhere was clean and tidy. If you were later than 09.00 am for breakfast, the choice was not so good than if you had turned up earlier, that was our feeling. The Saturday evening meal was not totally satisfactory because there was not enough staff and we booked a table at 20.30 but did not eat until 21.45. The server did his best but was over powered with the demands of trying to keep up with the orders. Maybe the kitchen staff were understaffed as...
