"Karen and Graham were excellent hosts and the breakfast was a full English one and many other options in the morning. Pretty easy walk from the train station along the seashore promenade to the Guesthouse. We lucked out with 4 sunny days and enjoyed ourselves as many restaurants and eateries in the neighbourhood."

"This was our second stay at The Cumberland, excellent as before! We book a family room number 7, it’s very quiet with a rear view over the town, spacious, light and very cosy. I normally don’t pay a particular attention to toiletries but they are so good at The Cumberland so I had to google and order for my home. Hosts are wonderful, breakfast yummy and central location. They provide parking permit if you can find a spot near the hotel. We’ll be back!"

The rooms are modern, very clean, comfy beds and equipped with everything you need, very quiet too. Great breakfast cooked by Jayne and her husband Warren, the staff were very helpful and efficient. "Great staff all very friendly they couldn’t do enough for us. Had a honesty bar which was a really good idea. You could take own drink into bar hosts didn’t mind at all. Also a microwave to heat your own food if you wished to do so. Breakfast was very good you could have whatever you wanted. Lots of options. Modern and very clean. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again. Situated right on sea front and 3 minute walk to train station. Very convenient. "

"The hotel is located just in front of the beach. The hosts are very friendly and the anti-covid measures in place are very reassuring. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There is a large range of options for breakfast. On the minus side, the footsteps from the rooms upstairs can be quite loud."

"It was a grade 2 listed building which added to the lustre of the building, (due to this there is no lift, so be prepared to use the heavily carpeted stairs). Only breakfast available, this is a first class breakfast. "
