“Stayed during owners transition, that's why the kitchen served only breakfast and it was amazing! The same helpful staff. Short business stay, I visit a lot of hotels and I do appreciate smaller ones. Room had a nice design, comfortable bed and modern bathroom, all very clean and well kept.”

“Room was beautiful. My partner said the chocolate croissant was the best. Scrambled eggs were the best i have ever had. Tour of castle was great. Staff were lovely. Thanks from Australia.”

“길가에 있어서 찾기 쉽고 유적들과도 가까워요 바와 식당도 겸하고 있어서 집같은 느낌이 들고요 방의 상태는 넓고 쾌적해요”

“Lovely room - nice and clean and bed very comfy. Good in the pub downstairs was absolutely fabulous - huge portions and very tasty. Highly recommend 👍”

“Room was clean and tidy on arrival Staff went above and beyond very helpful nothing was to much Breakfast was amazing lots of choice whatever your taste and all the food that came out looked good liked the fact juice and pasties where available as well as tea/ coffee and toast. We took our dog and again the staff order water and happily gave him a sausage for his breakfast. A lovely hotel in centre of Britain definitely worth a stop over”

Two things really stood out - the food was excellent (except chips - a minor thing), and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming without being overbearing. The last point, about how all staff were nice to interact with, was a major selling point and is why we will return. A special shout out to Dan ("Dan, Dan, the beverage man") for being so helpful and recommending Flyte - a top tip! Ad Gefrin sold two bottles to...

“We always ask for a river view and it was greatly appreciated”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we could have stayed longer. The food was very good, the room was large and clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.”

“Very well equipped little apartment, kindly supplied a pint of milk and a few teabags & coffee. I was however surprised that there was no shower gel in the bathroom. Very comfortable though, and the adjacent pub was lovely with good food and beer.”

“Lovely hotel in beautiful location in the Pennines.”

“Lovely b&b stay. Perfectly clean, attentive hosts, we wanted for nothing. Thoroughly recommended.”

“Room was immaculate and refurbished recently by the looks of it. Good breakfast choices in the cafe downstairs and the staff are very helpful. Only thing was that the B&B had no notification from Expedia that the stay had been prepaid and so they went to take payment from me. I was able to show them an email from Expedia to show it was paid. They took a photo of it and that was that. Not their fault.”

“Staff were excellent. Very nice outside area to eat in summer ! You must book in advance. (We didn't unfortunately) Meal was excellent and good breakfast the next day. Ample parking.”
