"Great hotel. Service and food are outstanding. My only complaint might be that my booked "junior suite with ocean view" technically had ocean view if you count a tiny sliver of blue on the horizon. Apart from that the place is insanely comfortable clean and well organized and that in a huge jungle area. It's also very professionally las Vegas style American which may be a pro or con depending on what you looking for. So all in all amazing hotel. Just don't sell somethibg as ocean view if you have to search for the ocean 😃"

Very good customer service. only one Lady where you’re making reservation for restaurants she didn’t was so pleasant. Thank you so much for everything we enjoyed our stay"

"Overall, a great resort, and we really enjoyed our stay! Just wanted to share a word of caution regarding the main pool, especially for families with babies or toddlers. Be sure to check the pool depth before entering through the middle stairs. My wife, who is about 5’5”, entered the pool through the middle stairs while holding our toddler, not realizing the water was approximately 5.4 feet deep. Both ended up going underwater, and thankfully, someone nearby was able to help them. We’ve stayed at several resorts, and this was probably the deepest pool we’ve encountered. The entrances on the sides of the pool are much more gradual, making them a better option for families with little ones. Again, we had a wonderful stay and aren’t sharing this as a complaint, but simply as a heads-up to other guests. What happened to us could have ended much differently, and we hope this helps other families avoid a similar situation."

"Barcelo has 6 hotels on the property to accommodate all price ranges and specific needs (like the adults only hotel). The area is very large so be prepared to walk a lot! The grounds are immaculate; the rooms are very clean and well maintained. They kept the fridge stocked with water, soda, beer and nuts every day. They keep the room temps a little too cold and I could never figure out how to adjust the thermostat and maintain the temp I wanted. It was always around 19 C which is about 64 F. The food at the buffet was always fresh and hot and the specialty restaurants were fabulous! The staff is multi-lingual, except for the gals who clean the rooms. Most of them only speak Spanish. The check in process was smooth and luckily there weren't large groups checking in at the same time however; checking out was awful. They need a separate line for check-outs. I waited for over 30 minutes behind people who were checking in and we almost missed our shuttle. That would be my only complaint is the check-out process. Give yourself PLENTY of time when you're ready to leave. Also - the bartenders are very friendly and remember your preferences. We always tipped them $1 every time we went to get drinks, and they appreciate it very much! Pools are very clean and huge! Never felt crowded and there is plenty of seating both around the pools and on the beach."

"Extraordinary hotel and apts. Loved the stone walk ways and lush jungle landscaping Clean, safe, comfortable. The staff made the difference between a great stay and an unforgettable stay. Photos are accurate. Good location. Wonderful resturant. I had the pleasure of staying in 2 different rooms with plunge pools and a 1 bdr apt with plunge pool. Wow. Huge pool, priviate sun deck big enough to hold a 10 person party. Beautifully decorated. Large 2nd terrace, full large kitchen. Front desk staff - professional, polite, helpfull to a solo older lady traveler. Johnny was most kind. I'd return."
