Staff were over worked and doing multiple jobs as best as they could and as quickly as they good. Tending bar, taking orders, waiting on tables - just one person! They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. โWe are returning to this stunning hotel for the 3rd time and love it here. Great service from staff they were able to give us a double room after we booked twin room available via hotels.com which was great.
The food is amazing, fish and chips is a definite go to, and 2nd night we had a 3 course meal closer to fine dining with famtastic quality.

Penrith is a beautiful picture postcard town and very handy base for traveling to the Lake District

Gym facitilities were ok but not all appeared to be in working order. Cleaan pool. Jacuzzi, steam roon and sauna.

โWe had a โnewโ room that was beautiful with a stunning bathroom. One thing could be betterโฆa full-length mirror for the ladies. Breakfast was top class and dinner was also superb though our server was a bit random and forgot a second glass of wine. But the manager recovered very well by delivering at no cost! Location is good especially for a stop-over close to the M6.โ

โLovely, welcoming hotel. Very approachable receptionist. All staff were very friendly and accomodating. Will definitely recommend and will return. Great walks and scenery on doorstep! Beautiful pub called the white lion Inn 2 min walk away, with very friendly atmosphere. We had delicious hot breakfast at Patterdale Hotel! โ
