“Grade location. Close enough to the downtown without being super busy right around the hotel.”

“The owner made us very welcome on arriving. It was lovely to stay in a well maintained old property (16th century) with great character, with a welcoming open fire in the general sitting / dining area. The bedroom window provided some lovely views of the fells. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Eggs were provided by the free roaming hens in the garden.”

“Really comfortable, quiet and clean bedroom, the bathroom was on the small side and not as nice as the rest of the room (still nice enough). The staff were friendly but seemed very busy so they just gave us the key and pointed us in the direction of the outbuiling where our bedroom was located. If you have heavy luggage or struggle with stairs our room would not be for you as there were some very steep stairs.”

“Excellent place to stay to visit The Lakes and surrounding areas with stunning views. We stayed for 5 nights and were made to feel so welcome . Absolutely spotless. Nothing too much trouble. Room lovely, hot shower, breakfasts excellent. Great choice and they are happy to sort whatever you would like. Coffee and homemade cake available in the lounge later. All in all, we have not stayed in a better B&B . Now we have found it will most definitely be back. Highly recommend.”

“Great base for walking in Langdale, you go straight out of the back door and up to Stickle Tarn. Excellent breakfast with good choices, a good selection for the evening meal and the Old DG hotel 15 minutes walk away if you fancy a change. Nice lounge for the wet days. 100% recommend”

“We have stayed here three times now & love the friendly homely atmosphere. The apartment is perfect for me & my son and he loves the swimming pool! The gym has plenty of equipment & my treadmill faces a field of cows & the odd pig which was lovely! Will definitely be staying again”
