“Nice friendly welcome from the gentleman working the bar on arrival Thursday 23rd October around 2pm, booked in and explained about breakfast, evening meals, on-site parking and what was happening at the pub over coming days. Shown to our room which was nice and bright, very clean and comfortable. The building dates from the 1700s so expect uneven floors and squeaky floor boards and lots of character in a nice way and things that catch your eye. Beautifully dressed for Halloween. “While the room was a bit small, the location was great. You can walk to almost any of the many old-town attractions. There is a decent restaurant/bar below the hotel. The staff was all very friendly. And, as a bonus, there is free secure parking on the lot just behind the hotel (you enter through a gate that goes under the 2nd floor). It's a bit loud until 11:00 (on the weekend) and then very quiet afterward. Despite the crowded room, we loved it and would go back. ”

“Lovely location. Staff were very helpful. Rooms are a little tired but they are perfectly acceptable as they are clean and comfortable. Breakfast choices are great. They are more than happy to accommodate any needs. We had a planned power cut when there and the staff were very well prepared. They gave us a powerbank, pre charged lights for our room and put heating on to ensure the rooms were warm before it went off. Couldn’t have asked for better customer service. Would definitely stay here...
