"Dried bogies on the wall right next to the bed, broken remote, other people’s clothes/ belongings collecting in the wardrobe, empty soap container in the kitchen. So much of the room just looked dirty and like it needed a wipe. The outside of the shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages, walls, sides, just all needed to be cleaned properly. So much of the room just felt grotty and like it needed a proper clean. Bathroom isn’t big enough to move in. But the swimming pool is amazing, I would come back for that alone. And the cafe attached is brilliant, with nice staff and lots of good options. Also beautiful iced coffee."

"Great property close to the train station that is connected to the ExCel center (trains, not the hotel). The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and the staff goes above and beyond! My room was large with a huge window seat where I could relax, get work done or just read a book while enjoying the view. The king sized bed was large and comfortable with high end sheets and pillows. The bathroom was huge and had a shower, separate tub, and great lighting. There were robes slippers and nice toiletries. Evening ice delivered to the rooms was a nice touch. The restaurant was excellent, not a huge menu but I think it is better to have few excellent dishes rather than a lot of mediocre ones. Try the salted caramel ice cream for dessert. Sounds simple but was so good I ended ep getting it for room service each night. The hotel is sophisticated, elegant, and situated with views of the river. Incredible views of the river really. Would be a great hotel for corporate meetings. I felt pampered and would absolutely stay here again if going to the Excel center or anywhere nearby."

"Pros: This property is nicely located on Canary Wharf. The listing shows a photo of a building right in front of the water with a yacht in front of that building. This hotel does not sit in front of the water but is walkable from the "boardwalk". Canary Wharf is away from the hustle and bustle of the city so it's much quieter overall. Dishoom is a walking distance away. Staff is friendly and property was clean in general. Loved the kitchen and laundry on-site was convenient. Cons: My first time in Europe so I didn't know what to expect as far as room accommodations. We arrived when it was extremely hot and found out that our room did not have air conditioning, only a small fan. This is what caused the lower rating. I didn't know that "air conditioning" is something I would need to look for in a property listing. I was informed by Uber drivers that the hotel should have air conditioning. We had to sleep with the windows open and even then, it was very uncomfortable and hot. There is also construction nearby that started fairly early in the morning and you can clearly hear the disturbance with the windows open. Air conditioning did exist for the common spaces on the top floor. The bed is highly uncomfortable. If you want to stay somewhere where you'll get a great night sleep - this is not the hotel. I'm used to having great sleep from hotels with great quality beds and sheets. You won't find that here. The location is great but will most likely not return to this hotel."

"Amazing apartment at a very good price. The apartment itself was excellent - the service however is poor: Communication prior was not good, they didn't respond to my questions about parking. Check in was a joke, one person who clearly didn't know what they were doing and couldn't speak very good English, the other two disengaged and not friendly- not organised and very stressful!"
