โStayed at the Coat & Bear while visiting Highclere Castle. I had a room with 2 beds and it was very spacious. The staff was very nice and the food at the pub was delicious. The town of Newbury is very nice and walkable and the hotel is only about a 10-15 min walk to the Newbury train station. I would definitely stay here again. โ

โReally friendly and welcoming host with tea and freshly baked cake. Room was spotless and breakfast was delicious with plenty of options and we also had freshly baked muffins. You won't go wrong by staying here!โ
โLarge, very clean room. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with great shower. Nice toilet products to use. Plentiful, tea, coffee and biscuits provided as well as a small fridge with bottled water.
Attractive restaurant with a good range of menu options. Ate there 2 nights and the food was very good. Some excellent desserts too!

โA really nice overnight stay and dinner at The Swan / Bel and Dragon. The building is delightful - full of beams and historical atmosphere but very well maintained. The bar was certainly very well patronised and appears popular with locals while most of the 9 rooms appeared to be occupied, based on the numbers at breakfast. โIt is an old hotel (antique in fact giving itโs been operating for 800 years), so no wall are straight, floors are uneven, hallways are narrow, and there is no elevator. But the conditions are ell kept, and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay there againโ
โwe had a great stay breakfast was fantastic, only slight moan parking outside sometimes was unavailable , but there is a pay and display car park very close buy so when a space became available outside i moved my car .โ

โGreat find for our visit to Newbury. Breakfast included, 4 options to choose from and served in the pub restaurant. Also ate there both nights, food and service excellent. Room had all you needed, large room plus walk in shower. โ
