Originally stayed in the "cabanas" by the pool, which were very below par for a four star hotel (apparently about to be refurbished), but was moved to a room in the hotel proper, which was a massive improvement. Pools were excellent and a wealth of top class eating options, although strangely no actual Egyptian. The staff were fantastic and overall an excellent stay."

"Staff was great. Armed guards with large guns everywhere near the hotel. Guard dog sniffs each car that enters and you must walk through metal detectors and show your key card each time you enter. Felt like the airport each time coming in. Some of the other guests are disrespectful towards woman (assuming based on culture). Room was like being transformed back into 80s. Far from Pyramids and other key destinations. Was on the second floor facing Nile and heard the loud music all night until 1 am...
