Hammersmith and Fulham, London hotel rooms at the Independent

"Room appeared OK on first walking in however the beds were extremely uncomfortable, the pillows were the most lumpy pillows I have ever seen - they must be many years old and are extremely uncomfortable. There was no soap available in the soap dispensers. There were white stains on one of the pillows and one of the duvets."

"Although the hotel was nice, the staff were shocking, i parked my car at the hotel for £85 per night, on arrival they took £170 out of my account for 2 nights parking, and also extra for a romantic package i bought, the second day another £170 went out of my account, when questioned they said it was £100 a night they placed as holding on my card, but that worked out at £200 not £170. I quiestioned 2 members of reception who both gave different reasons as to why the payment went out, with one of them trying to cover up what had happenend and the other openly saying they shouldn't have taken the payment twice, it was a mistake, and it wouldn't go back on my account for 3 days. I asked to speak to management and the receptionsist spoke to the manager on the phone, who then told the receptionsist to tell me they were too busy to see me!! I wont be staying here again, much better staff at other hotels in this area. "

"The room was lovely, and the food was tasty but what constitutes ‘breakfast included’ is not clear stated when you sit down. Only filter coffee, which tastes awful, and tea are included - proper coffee, which you would expect included is extra (the waiter told us when we ordered). The Hoxton is a good hotel, but this is penny pinching. "

"Room was clean entire building was clean. Staff was very nice and made you feel welcomed. I never made it to the breakfast because the beds or so comfortable just didnt feel like moving. It was nice would definitely stay here again. "

"The rooms were a good enough size, the bathroom smallish and serviceable for 1 person at a time. The windows open which was great since it was really warm. Apparently the hotel is set at one temp and you can’t change it so we were glad for the staff giving us a fan. It was about a 5 minute walk to the Central line ( which takes you to all the main places) The neighbourhood felt safe at night and there were many places to eat even later at night. The was also a huge mall a 5 minute walk away."
