It had EVERYTHING we needed and wanted. The check in was a suprise of nearly 3 hours earlier than listed, that was fantastic! They supplied beach chairs, umbrellas,coolers and pool toys. The front desk staff was more than helpful and happy. I 100% will book this property again."

We enjoyed sitting out at the beach watching the sunset. That way we didn't have to leave the property and could enjoy adult beverages without having to worry about driving afterwards. "I had a pleasant, not great, stay at Kona Coast Resort. Some things that were wonderful: the size of the villa! A full kitchen, dining, and living area was not quite what I expected; the bathroom and bedroom were also huge. The deck was enormous. The bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the ceiling fan in the bedroom & living room, the white noise machine/alarm clock, the good quality shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and the full kitchen. Things that were okay: it did take some time for the place to cool down. Not ideal when arriving late, as I think many flights from the mainland do. I skipped the timeshare hard sell (I was able to use amenities with just my room keys) and I received calls to my cell throughout my stay trying to get me to come do that. I ignored them, but it was irritating. The floors are surprisingly thin; I think I did not have a herd of rhinos in the condo above me, but it sure sounded as though I did. Things that were bad: the wifi. My apple iOS devices would not stay connected. I called both the front desk and the tech support number provided multiple times, and was unable to resolve this problem. My macbook connected, but I was dropped from my meetings several times to the point where I just had to join from my phone - it was unprofessional. I woke up to a Hawaiian centipede in the bathroom on my second day, which was unpleasant. I subsequently killed two roaches. I would not return if I had work obligations. I might otherwise."

"As soon as you pulled up the valet was very friendly and helpful with directions. The view to the ocean took my breath away as soon as you walked in to the main entrance. I enjoyed my stay and it was very pleasant having staff text me about current events and things going on around the area. For example the volcano being active so that we didn’t get to miss anything special about Hawaii. I didn’t even have to go anywhere and got to see sea turtles right outside the restaurant after breakfast the day before we were going to leave."

"My husband and I had a wonderful one week stay at Fairmont Orchid. The weather was perfect mid October, and this area is generally very dry. We were looking to unwind and only rented a car for one day to go visit Volcano village and the botanical gardens in Hilo. I do recommend a one and a half hour scenic drive to the beautiful gardens. Snorkeling in the hotel lagoon was an amazing experience. There are so many turtles there and different kinds of fish. The hotel provides snorkeling equipment free of charge. Do not forget water shoes for swimming. I saw many sea urchins. There were plenty of chaises in the shade as well as in the sun, and you could also rent covered chaises as well as private cabanas. The food is good but it’s better at the neighboring Mauna Lani for the same money. The shuttle will take you there free of charge. You can walk there along the beach. We enjoyed both resorts. Fairmont guests are welcome at Mauna Lani. Overall, great relaxing time."

"This is the first time I’ve stayed at a Hilton Village, it’s massive. The Tower is a long way from the parking lot, the boat wasn’t working but the tram was fine. We ended up walking instead, because the path is lovely. It has many pool areas and places just to sit and relax. Our Tower room was quite large and the balcony was perfect with a great view of the lagoon and the ocean. The only negative was it didn’t have another restaurants open every day, some of them closed too early. Sitting on the ocean in bar was what I could have done every day. They’re really losing out on a lot of income with a bar that stays open later. Otherwise, great trip and would stay there again."
