“The hotel itself is excellent - great location and architecture. The cool atmosphere and aircon were welcoming on the hottest June day ever recorded in Cardiff! The facilities were great - including bedroom, bar and pool / spa. A couple of disappointments though. Guaranteed check-in from 3p.m. We arrived at 2.15 so went to the bar to wait. “Staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely but a bit cold. Air conditioning in our room was lousy, not cold enough and air flow was ineffective, room was way too hot to sleep in. Location was great for city centre”

“Hotel very rundown. Definitely in need of some TLC inside and outside. Staff friendly. Breakfast good. No information about the hotel in the room. Went to get a bar snack at 8.10pm only to be told the kitchen closes at 8pm. Menu on the bar clearly states 24 hour service. On checking out the receptionist was clearly shocked about the kitchen closing at 8pm as she said I should be able to get 24 hour room service. Carpet on level 2 corridor absolutely filthy. “Clean comfortable guest house. Note it has a shared bathroom and toilets . Plenty of facilities kettle and tea in room and kitchen. Shared use of full kitchen. It was the days of the heatwave so uncomfortable only because of that. Bed very comfortable clean linen and towels. All guests were very in tune with quiet period 10 pm to 8 am. I was aid for street parking through guest house arrived early and managed to park directly outside.”

“The hotel isn't sound proof at all. It's a hotel made out of a large house. While i was staying, it sounded like the guys next door were in my room because i could hear their every step and chat and felt really insecure because of that. The bathroom and toilet are shared which i didn't expect at all. At least they are kept clean and there's daily cleaning service. The room had a basin. There was no shower gaun though towels were provided. They had good heating on.”

“We had to walk up thirty stairs to the top room which was claustrophobic and the bed was very high. The toilet system was very loud. My partner couldn’t get into the shower as she is on the large size and struggled with the stairs which did not have a proper banister. We checked out two days early as she couldn’t cope with the stairs and the room and we are awaiting a refund for those two days.”
