Browse the work of some of Canada’s greatest artists and learn about regional history when you visit Museum London. You’ll see landscapes capturing Canada’s natural beauty, portraits of historical figures and artifacts that are hundreds of years old. 

The museum first opened its doors in 1940 and the collection has grown to include over 5,000 works of art and more than 45,000 artifacts covering London’s history. Tour exhibition rooms that house a rotating roster of exhibits drawn from the permanent collection.

See paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings by some of the country's leading artists. Most of the pieces date from the 20th century to the present day. Discover insights into the region’s past by viewing the temporary historical exhibitions. Previous retrospectives have looked at the city during World War I and II, domestic hygiene and the relationship between First Nations and London's early settlers. 

Learn more about what you are seeing by booking a group tour with a local guide. Tours are available throughout the week and must be booked at least two weeks in advance. 

Break up your trip by stopping off at the River Room Café. Enjoy a snack or meal accompanied by superb views of the River Thames below. 

Museum London also runs a regular program of one-off events, including activities for children. Attend one and you may find yourself learning new techniques in an art workshop, listening to an art lecture or enjoying a concert by local musicians. The museum is open every day except Mondays with extended evening hours on Thursdays. Admission to the museum is by making a donation. 

With a central city location, Museum London is well served by local public transport. For drivers there is a paid parking lot and metered street parking.
