“We didn’t arrive to this hotel until after midnight and we checked out quite early, so we didn’t use the bar or any of the facilities or stay for breakfast. I can say that the room was fine, everything is provided that you might need, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Only complaint was that the fan was dusty so we couldn’t use it and we couldn’t have the window open because the bins were under our window and were smelly. Would stay again.”

We booked a room over a year in advance and after driving 300 miles for 6 hours the desk workers informed us that the hotel doesn't actually recognise booking made through Expedia. We were not informed of this until we turned up only to find we had no where to stay for the night. Expedia were incredibly unhelpful on the phone and after an hour of trying to sort out their mistakes I hung up the phone and sorted...

“Shame the restaurant was closed but the pizza filled a hole. Room excellent, staff welcoming and polite and a well stocked bar. ”

“Rooms were clean, well appointed and were massive. The wardrobe being situated in the bathroom is a little odd. The parking is charged at £13 per night so quite pricey. Breakfast good, bar area nice. Staff very friendly and helpful.”

“Beautiful hotel, great location, immaculate and picturesque gardens. Rooms well decorated, clean, really can't complain about the aesthetics. Staff attentive. Breakfast choice very good and delicious. Our only complaint was the noise in the beer garden. The weather was really good, and so, attracted people (guests & non guests) to the beer garden. “Clean room, friendly staff, pleasant bar, terrace and breakfast area. I prefer a cup/mug for my tea or coffee, and both days these were sparse, although takeaway cups were available.”

“Lovely location with Wooky Holes on the doorstep of the Hotel. Room was basic but clean and had everything you'd want fir an overnight stay. Lovely grounds for a walk. Only negative was bath taps had hot water, but the shower had only had cold water. The mixer thermostat was obviously faulty. Talking to other guests, this seemed to be a common fault as others said their shower only had cold water too.”

“The staff were very friendly and the location was great! We visited during an extreme heat wave and unfortunately it was uncomfortable sleeping. The staff provided a room fan when we requested, but unfortunately the 2nd floor was an oven. This is no fault of the staff or property, it was just an anomaly of the weather.”
