"This hotel is beautiful. We originally booked a standard room which was tiny and had the most uncomfortable bed. The toilet was so close to the door the toilet roll holder was jammed to your leg and we are fairly average sized people. We decided to upgrade for the 2nd night and got a King deluxe which was amazing with a favourite roll top bath and separate shower. Much more spacious and the bed was firm but much better than the previous bed. Unfortunately the A/C wasn't working and made a regular weird noise but that didn't spoil our stay. The cream tea in The Garden Room was the best one we had in York. Delicious. Overall I would recommend but don't stay in a standard room as they are tiny!"

"I had a great stay at the Moxy York. The property is modern, creative, design-forward, and very clean. For those who prefer a more modern, contemporary hotel while visiting a historic city like York, this is a great choice. The location is excellent, right on the edge of the main old town. It is close enough to easily walk into the historic center, but just removed enough that it felt quiet at night with very little traffic. It is also next door to a very old historic pub, which ended up being a great bonus. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the free cocktail at check-in was a fun touch. My room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with a nice bathroom and plenty of space to settle in. The lobby is also fantastic. It is large, stylish, and full of different seating areas, whether you want to work, relax, or sit with a small group. It made the hotel feel very easy and comfortable to spend time in. The only small note is that the entrance/location can be a little awkward for Uber drop-offs and pickups. Drivers may stop slightly down the street, but there is a small pull-in area nearby that works well once you know where it is. Overall, this was a great hotel in a great area. I would absolutely stay here again. Wish I had stayed longer in York. So much to explore."

"We had room 109 via Hotels .com for a one night stay for a visit into York etc The room had no air con but it had a fan. In the Bathroom the extractor fan was dirty and my wife noticed that one the amenities boxes was empty. and only one hair and shower gel available. The spa however was excellent and all facilities were first class. The breakfast was first class and staff were very helpful through out or stay. One Point to mention is it was quite a long walk from the car park to the main entrance so advisable to drop of your luggage before parking. On returning form our evening out in York it rained and we got rather wet from the car park Parking could be better to get closer to the Hotels Main entrance Martin Prescott"
