"When I was booking this hotel I knew it looked nice from the pictures and close to Gion district but it exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could have imagined. First, the hotel is beautiful and from the moment you walk in you just feel the warmness and attentiveness from the staff. The rooms are super spacious, clean, modern and even the hallways are nice. The bakery here is another level of goodness! Every pastry we had here from bagels, donuts and puff breads are so airy, light and delicious. This bakery alone is worth the stay. Then the restaurant downstairs is another highlight to this amazing hotel and the rooftop bar. Don’t be afraid to check it out after a long day out even if it’s cold because they give you a warm blanket to enjoy the air and decompress with a yummy cocktail that you can order with vouchers they give you for booking through Expedia. Perk! Then another amazing thing about this magnificent hotel is that when you come out of the hotel and turn left you are just a five minute walk from enjoying famous geisha district and the their shops/restaurant. 💯recommend to stay here. "

"Had a great time here in kyoto. The hotel was really good. The shuttle between the hotel and station was a great facility; especially when first arriving and leaving with luggage it made it very convenient. The hotel itself was fine, maybe slightly dated in the styling and decor but otherwise was great, staff very friendly, plenty of space in the room, the bed was very comfy and spacious, the breakfast buffet was great, a very nice selection of items. The only place I do feel maybe a little room for improvement was the bathroom, in particular the shower. I know we are of a larger build than most Japanese people but at 5"7 and 6"3 both me and my husband were having to bend backwards / kneel to fully wash our hair in the shower so was a little inconvenient but not the end of the world. Would probably stay again if we come back "
