Waterfall Country, Wales hotel rooms at the Independent

"I was a lone lady traveller who received the most wonderful customer care at this hotel. I realise that it is easy to say that everyone was good, but they were. From check in, where my requests were noted and acted on (lovely quiet room with a bath :-) ) to all the meal services. The only reason that I dropped the score down from being perfect was due to the ongoing building works. This in no way effected my stay and was of no inconvenience at all but the hotel was not looking it's absolute best which I am sure it will after Jan 2027. I ate dinner and breakfast on both days of my stay and found the food to be excellent. Service was quick and the quality of products is good. Parking for the hotel is provided by a multi story carpark, right next door which at £5 per 24 hours was excellent value. Members of staff that really went out of their way to make me feel at home were, Andrew, Ellie (breakfast) and Victoria (reception). Thank you to you all. I really enjoyed my stay. "

"Wasn't expecting too much from our stay at The Dolphin hotel Swansea as it wasn't expensive and only classed as 3*. The receptionist was very friendly, efficient and welcoming. We did mention that we were in Swansea to celebrate my partner's birthday but wasn't offered anything as a free upgrade which would have been a nice treat. Having worked in hotels myself in the past this is something that can result in repeat business. The furniture was very dated and worn in appearance and the carpet was coming away from the walls. However the room was spotlessly clean. It suited us for what we needed and depending upon the price we would book there again "
