"We recently stayed at The New Yorker for a quick two-day, one-night trip, and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is nice and centrally located right off 8th Avenue, making it very convenient for exploring the heart of New York. Although there was construction happening outside, it did not impact our stay.
Check-in was a highlight. The front desk associate was welcoming, allowed us an early check-in, and even provided an upgraded room, which we truly appreciated.
There were a few small touches that could have made the stay even better. For a hotel of this size and location, it would have been nice to have complimentary coffee or water available in the lobby. While the room included a Keurig, it only had coffee and no tea options. Additionally, there was no microwave in the room or accessible anywhere in the hotel. After ordering in-room dining, which was quite expensive, it would have been helpful to reheat leftovers rather than having to go back out.
Bathroom amenities were also very basic. Items like lotion or makeup remover wipes would have been a nice addition, especially compared to other hotels at a similar or even lower price point.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, especially the location and customer service, but a few added conveniences and amenities would elevate the experience even more.
