"Great location right in the theater district. Walk to Time Square and 10 min from Penn Station. Brand new furniture and a nice bar.
Professional staff (special shout out to Christina from front desk), nice room.
The only thing that surprised me was that there was no in room coffee & mini fridge."
"You’re paying to be a good location. You’re close to several train stations, central park, lincoln center, etc. But the hotel it self is a bit dated.
Staff are helpful but there were some inconveniences that I would want to know about if I were staying here. For example, the key cards consistently need to be reactivated (4x for us), you can’t control the temperature of your room, and there’s not water / ice stations."
"Run down horrendous room. The batteries were dead on the room telephone as well as the thermostat on the wall. Mildew stains around the tub. Uncomfortable bed."
"We had the room for only 1 night, arrived late and needed to leave the next morning early. The morning of checkout we realized the shower did not work. The shower did not have a drain plug. Also the iron stand was falling off the wall. For the price we paid, this was especially disappointing. We did not have type to correct the issue with the shower and had to leave. Very sub par compared to the Hyatt regency we stayed at the 2 nights previously"
"The hotel and rooms are old. It's noisy outside. There were workers doing maintenance, which wasn't a great experience. Even though the guy gave us a better room, it still wasn't clean or modern enough. The New Yorker Hotel has a good reputation, and I hope they take better care of it in the future."
