"Very traditional Ryokan experience, with the Tatami floors and Kaiseki meals.
Staff is very attentive.
This is not a traditional "luxury resort" (don't expect service and standards of a four seasons or ritz carlton hotel). Rooms felt a bit antiquated, but I think this added to the charm of the hotel as it positions itself as a place to have a more traditional Japanese experience.
It is about a 10-minute drive from the main town on the island, so it is a bit out of the way. If you want to be close to the action / shrines on the island, this probably isn't the hotel for you. If you want something super quiet and private, this is a good fit."
