โA beautiful, rural retreat. Wonderful facilities, extremely clean and homely. Comfortable bed with lots of in room extras, like home made shortbread, fresh milk with a mini fridge to store it in, lovely toiletries and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce, hence the brilliant taste.
Excellent hosts who were so helpful, kind and genuinely interested and keen to assist and make our stay as nice as possible.

โComfortable and good food with quick service. Plenty of sockets in the room, in useful places, which is great when travelling for business and having work to do. There wasn't a desk as it was a small single room, but there was a socket, with USB charger on the wall by the bed and a cushion to use, so working sitting on the bed was comfortable and convenient.โ
โBasic affordable accomodation. A bit tired but everything worked - great shower, TV, tea & coffee, hairdryer. There's a table tennis room for guests too, but we were too tired to give it a go sadly. A 15 minute walk from town centre.โ
โLovely place nice friendly staff and good food. Decor has been done tastefully and in keeping with the age of the building

โGreat location for exploring the lakes. Staff are chatty and friendly which made me feel at ease as a solo traveller. Excellent meal in the evening and breakfast. Will stay again. โ
โVery welcoming reception from the host. We stayed for two nights and had a fantastic cooked breakfast each morning. My wife is coeliac and was well catered for. This B&B is ideally suited for the city centre, has close transport links and also provides on-street parking.
I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. โ
โThe staff were Brilliant. We were given what could be described as a standard room when we arrived. When we showed reception picture of room which was booked they changed room to room on picture immediately. It was mentioned that it should not have been advertised as a superior room. Hotel was perfect for a warm , quiet welcome after a day walking. Staff were fantastic. โ
โCould not imagine a more wonderful stay. Hiking Hadrianโs wall and the Sally was a most wonderful stay. The food was incredible with great vegetarian and gluten free options. The rooms were large and comfortable with very comfortable beds, great water pressure, and all spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, all in a lovely little parish. I highly recommend staying at the Sally. โ
โOur stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business.
Food options were limited when we arrived, particularly for our two fussy children, so we did eat elsewhere that night, but the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good,...

โWelcomed on arrival by Vickie who was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean. Tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, and a nice touch was the freshly cut cake! The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well. A valuable addition to the room was the pedastal fan!! We would most definitely stay here again.โ
