Get here early and you'll have Monet all to yourself! Originally built as an orange-tree garden, this building was redesigned in 1922 to accommodate eight of Monet's large Nymphéas (water-lily) paintings. Monet himself helped design the two oval rooms, incorporating natural light and limited distractions. This made me feel like I was standing within a work of art rather than just looking at one.
This was my favorite art piece in Paris. Not as popular as the Louvre or Musee de orsay, but it house's Monet's water lilies. Two rooms encircled with the water lilies of Monet's garden shifting from early morning sunrise to the darkness of sunset. The colors are amazing.
