“Beautiful castle and surroundings just a bit tired”

“Such a quaint old Welsh building in a lovely rural setting just outside of the market town of Ruthin (it is in the middle of a static caravan park but a very pleasant one). A great location for exploring the many places to see around the area . Rooms are of a good size and well equipped. Restaurant menu was limited but is being updated and the prices were reasonable, as was the bar. Breakfast was enough to keep you going for the day. Never got to use the pool but looked inviting. “The house is very dated, the beds were uncomfortable, the rubbish bins outside were overflowing. The listing states a hot tub and the photos show that that’s what drew us to book but upon arrival there wasn’t one ! The staff on the phone were rude when they called to complain about our parking, we wasn’t even in at the time. They didn’t even ask if everything was ok with the stay. Would I recommend it no !”

“Good hotel for our short 2 night stay visiting relatives in the area. The management were very helpful and provided anything we asked for. We didn’t have dinner there so can’t comment on that aspect, but breakfast was first class and cooked freshly to order.”

“The hotel is nice. The hotel pub is the same. And the staff is polite. The coffee machine DID NOT WORK in the room. You couldn’t even put the mug (from the hotel room not my personal one) to pour coffee in it because it is too big. In the room there are no sockets. I wanted to charge my laptop and other devices, I didn’t have where. There are two “sockets” on one side and the other of the bed STRICTLY for phone cables. Meaning you insert the cable directly.
