"The biggest issue is that there is barely any wi-fi in the bedrooms, no signal. There are several wi-fi set-ups in the building but I am told that the password is not available to guests even though the signal strength is good. This is a pity as free wi-fi is seemingly offered to guests. An ongoing issue as this was the case last year and SERCO who run the place haven't addressed the issue."

"Everything was great, except May 4 my birthday. I was coming from a 12 hour tour and the manager and security guy harassed me. The manager kept looking at me even I had my card key in my hand. I went to the room to change cause I was tired but I was hungry. I went back to the room cause I forgot my glasses and the security guy asked me for my key card, but he just asked me when there was other people coming. I felt embarrassed. "A lovely hotel in the most perfect of areas for exploring everything Durham. A little more tea and little checks of the room would’ve made it super. Only other slight disappointment was only small amounts of fruit at breakfast. Everything else was lovely including staff and general upkeep of hotel itself. Thank you for a great stay"
