"We only stayed here one night but the staff was very helpful and they even had wine & charcuterie at the pool that we were able to visit & enjoy for 30 minutes. Easy access to the freeway but long walk to downtown. Would stay again"

"My husband and I enjoyed a lovely stay at La Quinta Inn Paso Robles- our fourth stay at this property. They offer a complimentary breakfast every morning, along with an evening happy hour. The hotel is spotless and workers are busy polishing and cleaning every day. The bed was so comfortable that we inquired about the manufacturer and found that you can actually purchase the Beautyrest Hospitality brand online! The assistant general manager, Hilary was extremely helpful with safekeeping my husband’s lost prescription sunglasses- thank you so much! The proximity to downtown Paso is a short 10 minute drive and several wineries are super close by. We definitely recommend this property for the great value and amenities it offers compared to the property right next door, although a bit more plush, it is twice the cost."

"I arrived with my girlfriend at quarter till three. When I approached the desk clerk, I was told to sit down and wait until 3:00. I've never experienced anything like this at any lodging I've stayed in in the last fifty years of staying in hotels across the country and the world. In addition to this rude reception, when I went to the desk later to see about getting an extra blanket; my girlfriend runs cold and we often request this at other hotels. I was told they didn't have any, and that the room has a heater! This crossed a line from being unaccommodating, to plain rude. This isn't customer service. I'll never consider coming back to the Silver Surf Motel even if the room was offered at no charge."

"The place is obviously old but it’s well maintained. The AC/heater was hit or miss. Parking was adequate. Close access to Embarcadero and all the good shops and restaurants. The guy in the front asked us if we needed room upkeep in the morning and we said yes. Only the towels were replaced, the bed, which had a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet, was not made. Otherwise, it was a good stay, overall."
