"I spent a great time with my family, including my two kids, at the Barceló Palace. After lots of research, this hotel was the perfect choice! The pools were clean, the food was amazing with plenty of variety, and the dinner restaurants were excellent. The beach had crystal-clear water and no seaweed, though not as blue as Cancún. Some open areas like the lobby lacked strong A/C, but it was manageable. Lots of shopping options inside the hotel made everything convenient."

"Awesome place to stay. It was my first time in an all inclusive and will definitely be back. The staff everywhere is super friendly. The concierge personnel are extreme helpful with booking your dinners and giving you all the info for the activities happening in the area. Extremely grateful for ours-Derek. Everyone will make sure we had everything we needed. All staff will acknowledge you as you pass by them. We were able to go to 4 different a la carte restaurants, all delicious. Our favorite one was La Cantina, we enjoyed the show they have. Also Casa Alma, next to the beach. The breeze you will feel there, so calming. The bars! WOW! The bartenders will have your next drink ready without you asking for them. Bartender Jorge at La Prana pool 100%. Delicious Drinks! A highly recommended place to go as a couple or as a family with kids since they also have a lot of activities for them and a pool playground. The spa. The hydrotherapy. Everything. Go for several days in order to be able to enjoy everything they have to offer. Don’t miss the shows, every night it’s a different one. "Really nice hotel, I liked all the options for the kids, kids water park, kids club, the churrasqueria and cafeteria. The views are amazing. Restaurants are okay, the workers they were all very friendly and helpful. This resort It’s a bit far from both airports so taxis will charge over $100 to take you there. As well as any taxis to playa del Carmen around $40. Also you will see animals like mapaches, iguanas and I even saw a snake. For someone like me that doesn’t like animals maybe is something to take into consideration. But overall good hotel. "

"I absolutely loved this resort. Our family stayed at a Dreams resort in the Dominican Republic last year, and we enjoyed that, but Catalonia was far better. Dreams was bigger, had a bigger buffet, no sargassum seaweed on the beach, and an impressive entertainment crew. But, it was the staff at the Catalonia that made all the difference. The people working there were just incredibly warm and friendly. They worked hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. After a week there, we felt like we were leaving friends behind. On the entertainment crew, Abraham really stood out. He brought the energy and the humor. At the Steakhouse, Prescilla was very sweet and funny while serving us. Arturo was our waiter at the Mexican restaurant where his smile and friendliness made us feel like we were his only table. Quetzabel greeted us warmly everytime we entered the buffet and really made us feel welcome and accomodated. And during lunch at Bikini Bites, Marcelino and Juan were a lot of fun and made the experience memorable. There were so many others who deserve mentioning as well, but who's names I failed to catch. As far as the more tangible elements of the resort are concerned, they were equally notable. The rooms were great and the housekeeping was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was inviting. Ironically, I found the buffet food better than the fine dining restaurants on the resort. In short, great resort, and frankly, a great value."
