"The Empire Hotel is literally across the street from Lincoln Center, so if you are in NYC for a performance, the location cannot be beat. The Empire Rooftop bar/restaurant was so delightful we went twice, for Sunday brunch and cocktails before the performance. The hotel is showing some wear and could use TLC; for example the wall artwork in the lobby was in disrepair, a lobby TV was held up with 2-by-4s, our bathroom toilet seat was broken, and the room's radiator/AC sounded like a jackhammer....

"The manager and staff were very friendly and supportive through the stay. However, it was awful on arrival because of a glitch that caused dozens to have no rooms available. We had been on planes for 24 hours, then in the train metro to Manhattan, walked with luggage to the lobby to find a mess. This should not have happenned. Since that bad experience, things were great. The manager was exceptionally nice. The staff too."

"I DO NOT appreciate the $30 per day charge which you only get back in food credit. With a Use it or lose it aspect. The server in the bar cafe could have cared less about service and the turkey BLT I had was awful. I have no idea how you mess up a turkey sandwich I do not know. And who did the plumbing renovation? Horrible handle situation-and the cable TV is atrocious. Clean, yeah, close to Times Square and theaters, yeah. But Oh boy, if God is in the details she is looking away from this...

"Beautiful hotel in great location across from Central Park. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with nice amenities in the bathroom. The only little couple of things were that the wifi isn't great, it would be nice to see QTips and cotton swabs in the bathroom and of course a coffee/Nespresso machine for the room. I get that they want people to pay for coffee downstairs but for almost $800 a night that begins to feel very nickely-dimey of them. Overall an excellent place to stay "
