Mango Sunset is situated on a hill in a lovely coffee plantation. It’s 15 or 20 minutes from town. The sunsets are amazing and breakfast in the morning with French pressed coffee is delicious! Heidi (host) makes her own sourdough! She and husband Dan are naturals at hospitality.

Booked this room thru Expedia 10 minutes before showing up at the place. We were warmly greeted by the owners and they assisted us in taking our luggage in. They let us chose between the 2 rooms they had available. They were amazing hosts. They offered us hot and cold beverages and snacks. They even drove us into town and dropped us off. Beach is not good. Very small swimming area. Lots of rocks even there. Need reef walkers. Hapuna beach state park is about 15 miles north of this hotel. That is a great beach.

We stayed in the Ohia Ranch Retreat room. This was easily the most beautiful room we’ve ever stayed in. The aesthetic of the stained wood beams, hard wood floors and furnishings was outstanding. We stayed here for almost two weeks. Kelly was amazing. She was always whipping up different types of breakfasts. She was so cute and so talkative. Her food was really good. We originally stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa village and were scheduled for 10nights. However upon arrival we were unimpressed and had a depressing feeling due to the run down nature of the hotel. Blonde lady in the gift shop not friendly when checking in and out. She was talking to another male employee about other employees. Discuss business about training modules. Not friendly at all. Did not feel welcomed at all. In fact felt we we interrupting her day and she did not want to be bother with us. Spend a lot of money to stay her and was not welcomed. I wanted to purchase several items in the gift shop and passed.

We had an awesome stay. We did not realize how big this resort was. I would definitely stay at Kingsland again. It offers easy parking. And it is nice and quiet where we stayed. And we had access to any other part of the resort. So it allowed us to be away from the main building, where the beach and luau were located. Originally a Ritz Carlton hotel and you can tell by the quality fixtures and decor. Great dining and the sunset views are spectacular. I would definitely stay there again

My 5 year old son and I spent a week at the Hilton Grand Vacation resort. For us it was a great decision. With a car, we were two minutes to the Hilton Wailkoloa resort, and had full use of their facilities with free parking. If you plan to park yourself at the Hilton Waikoloa all day,then I can see where that may be a better option for some than the Grand Vacation. Cute, cute!! A true relaxing, scenic gem. Came from a big resort to this - - a lovely contrast. Near the volcano tour/state park. No TV, but that is their philosophical charm. Nice homemade bkft., older/quaint, clean - would definitely return!!
