“I so want this place to succeed! It’s in the most picturesque village, but needs some TLC after a string of management changes. New team comes in August. The bedrooms are clean, small, very comfortable and well designed. Current staff are lovely, but they’re leaving in 2 weeks.”

The reason I gave a poor review rating overall was because the fire alarm went off at 12:50 am and then rang intermittently for 45 minutes because apparently the Staff could not override a fault on the control panel or something like that. “Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10”

“We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. “The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night, and it was clean and comfortable (and the view of the hills was lovely). There was a large fan provided, which was very welcome given the heatwave that was taking place that week, We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. A perfect place for an overnight in the Lakes.”

“Very easy to find with a large car park at the back. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of drinks was great with it having its own distillery. The food was beautiful and freshly prepared. The room was just as you would expect and the bed was so comfortable! The set up overall was perfect. Would go back next time we’re there.
