Top Inchkeith Hotel Reviews

Moxy Edinburgh Airport
10/10 Excellent
"Great value,
Modern, clean, close to airport. Nice environment to have drink/dinner too if that interests you. The place had great energy "

Virgin Hotels Edinburgh
8/10 Good
"The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The lobby area is pretty nice. Lots of great ambiance. Because of where the hotel is located, you may not get any view or it will be obstructed. We had a small window and had a partial view of the castle but mostly we looked at a side of a building. The minibar was well stocked. Room was clean. Bed was great. They offer a turn down service, if you want it.
I did not have a good experience in the hotel bar or the restaurant, which was really disappointing. I ended up leaving the bar because I got tired and annoyed waiting for a server. I went to a pub nearby instead. Service in the restaurant was also mediocre/average. I thought the male hostess was either naturally really hyped up or on something (I thought the latter).
I found the restaurant food to be just okay. I was really looking forward to be impressed given some of the reviews but it was underwhelming. I had the king scallops. I found them overcooked and small. Appy and bread were also mediocre. My partner had the ravioli which he thought was good. Overall, I was disappointed in both the bar and the restaurant. I would choose a different hotel the next time I’m in Edinburgh. "

Holiday Inn Edinburgh by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"A wonderful stay at the holiday Inn ( near the zoo) very spacious, very clean and organised-by friendly professional team.
Well connected to airport and city. I hope to return when visiting Edinburgh again. "

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
6/10 Okay
"This was actually a two night stay - two separate, sequential reservations - which the staff dealt with just fine on check-in, though despite getting my keys renewed first thing on Day 2, the keys still did not work when I got back to my room - first world problems!
Biggest issue was that the hotel only had one working lift (elevator) for ten floors - you can imagine how busy that one elevator was!
Breakfast was OK, though the eggs benedict was luke-warm rather than hot. Decent continental breakfast selection, but mini-croissants were not fresh, and there was a distinct lack of any fresh bread (only sliced bread for toasting) - a few baguettes would make a difference!
The room was pretty spacious and comfortable and reasonably quiet. It looked a little tired in places, but nothing too troubling. The staircase used in place of the elevator service was somewhat grubby in places and not what would be expected of a 4* hotel.
The exit/entry off Calton Road is a bonus for easy access to Edinburgh Waverley Station.
The gym, although small in size, was well-equipped with free weights, and the steam room in the spa was a real bonus."
