"The hotel is in an excellent location in a vibrant neighbourhood and one that feels safe for tourists. We used it as a base to attend a concert at Hyde Park and it genuinely is a 20 minute easy walk. The hotel itself has welcoming staff and the foyer, bar and restaurant are all very modern and welcoming. The room itself was very clean but the furniture seemed a bit dated but then again many hotels of this ilk are. The bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful although it is within a bath. Tea and coffee making facilities are available and are replenished daily including a good selection of biscuits. Only slight disappointing thing was the free bottle of water wasn’t replenished despite the extreme temperatures in London. I would say the air conditioning controls look slightly archaic and it definitely struggled to keep the room cool in the 35 degree temperatures we experienced. The hotel makes contact with you a few days before your arrival asking if you wish to upgrade your room with the caveat on availability. I asked to upgrade but upon arrival the upgrade was not available, surely the hotels booking system should be able to tell if there was one available at the time. That was disappointing. However they had upgraded us to a slightly larger similar room to compensate for that. Finally, we received a voucher for a complimentary drink at the bar which was a nice touch until we found it was genuinely only for ONE free drink for one guest only and not for both!!"
