Mexico and Central America Cheap Vacations

This resort was a little underwhelming for a Westin usually they have higher standards. The layout was huge and confusing. We didn’t find the spa and gym until the 3rd day. It wasn’t advertised on Expedia as being a cashless resort so we wasted time converting US cash and now will have to convert it back loosing 5% off our money. We didn’t get our welcome package until the second last day so we could have saved money on restaurants but we weren’t made aware in a timely manner. Our flight arrived early and there was no attempt made to help us check in early even tho the room was very clearly ready well before 4pm. We were expected to wait in line again at 4 after already pre swiping my credit card for check in when we arrived at noon. By that time I was getting cranky as we had an early flight and the front desk was arguing with me. It was $20 USD for a bottle of water at their shop and $20 for onion rings but yet like $8 for fries. The pricing was odd. Probably would not recommend to anyone who is used to the higher standards of most Westins or just nicer hotels in general. If you’re type b you would probably be fine.

Staff was very attentive and courteous, room had everything we needed and whenever they did housekeeping they made sure we were well accommodated. Breakfast was delicious as well as the café in the entrance. Swimming pool/hot tubs were amazing. Would definitely recommend and/or stay here again.
