The Boulevard Kukulcán is the principal roadway running through the narrow strip of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. In addition to its rows of palm trees and ocean viewpoints, the avenue is lined by some of the city’s most deluxe and comprehensive shopping malls. On a visit to Boulevard Kukulcán bring your kids to see fish and sea mammals in the aquarium.
Explore the range of upscale shops and restaurants in the Forum By The Sea Mall at the northern end of the avenue. Purchase swimsuits to wear at Chac Mool Beach, on the shopping center’s southern side. Continue south along the narrow boulevard, taking in the stunning vista of the Gulf of Mexico on one side and Nichupté Lagoon on the other.
Soon, you’ll reach the extraordinary Mayan ruins of the Yamil Lu’um Archaeological Zone. These beachside ramparts were once part of a temple and now stand between a pair of resorts.
